Detection and Localization of Cancerous Tumor

The Computerized Breast Cancer Detect Algorithm has been tested on biopsy-proven breast cancer cases in an IRB-approved study conducted by the team of researchers at Rochester Institute of Technology and clinicians at Rochester General Hospital. The results have been validated with MRI data on tumor diameter and its location within the breast. The algorithm does not use any of the tumor data in its prediction and uses the same default settings in each case to begin the predictive algorithm.

The results of the comparison are presented as a bar graph. The tumor diameter and its location were correctly predicted within a few millimetres of the actual data obtained from the MRI images.
